Minutes of Meeting

October 26, 2007

Oklahoma SCS/NRCS Retired Employees met at the Hometown Buffet in Oklahoma City.  Fifty people were in attendance.  Randy Freeland offered a prayer and everyone enjoyed a buffet meal along with reminiscing.

President Nick Lambeth presided and opened the meeting with a welcome and reading of the names of those members who have passed since the spring meeting.  A moment of silence was observed.  A financial report was presented by Don Bartolina, Secretary/Treasurer.

The nominating committee of Fred Fortney, Chairman, and members Don Bartolina and Nick Lambeth presented a slate of officers:  Randy Freeland, President; Stan Rice, Vice-President; and Sandra Hough, Secretary/Treasurer.  The officers were elected by acclamation.  Appreciation was given to Nick Lambeth, President; Randy Freeland, Vice-President; and Don Bartolina, Secretary/Treasurer for the excellent job they have done for the last several years.  The new slate of officers will begin their tenure with the April meeting.

Members were offered an opportunity to pay dues for the coming year and were also encouraged to join NARFE.  David Haggard has been the Oklahoma representative to the National Association of Retired SCS Employees and would like for someone else to serve in that capacity.  No action was taken.

Chuck Sample was the only recent retiree in attendance.  Others in attendance introduced themselves and their spouses, if present.  The next meeting was scheduled for Friday, April 25, 2008, at the Hometown Buffet on the NW Expressway in Oklahoma City.

The meeting was adjourned by Nick Lambeth, President.
